SAT exam dates 2026-2027: calendar, registration and how to pick your date

Dates follow the international calendar published by the College Board and can change during the year. Check the College Board international registration page before you register. Scores are usually released about two weeks after the test.

1. Create a College Board account. Your name and date of birth must match your passport exactly; they are checked at the door.
2. Pick a test date and centre. Türkiye has test centres in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and many other cities; seats fill up, so register early.
3. Pay the fee. International candidates pay the base fee plus a regional fee; the current amount is on the College Board fee page.
4. Install Bluebook and complete exam setup. The test runs in the Bluebook app; setup opens 1–5 days before the test and generates your admission ticket.
5. Test day. Arrive by 7:45 with your passport, admission ticket and a fully charged device.

For most students the most effective plan is a first sitting in the spring of grade 11 (March, May or June) and a second in the autumn of grade 12 (October or November). The first gives a real measure of your level; the second is for hitting the target after closing the gaps.

• For Early Decision / Early Action the October sitting is usually the last safe date; November scores miss some deadlines.
• For Regular Decision the December sitting reaches most US universities — still check each one's deadline.
• Most universities superscore: they combine your best section scores across sittings. Planning two sittings is almost always better than one.
• Avoid dates that clash with school exam weeks; the two weeks before the SAT should belong to the SAT.

• A laptop or tablet with Bluebook installed, exam setup complete and a full battery (bring the charger too).
• Your admission ticket, printed or on screen from Bluebook.
• A valid passport (international centres require a passport as ID).
• A pen or pencil for scratch work; the centre provides paper.
• Water and a small snack for the break; phones and smartwatches stay off and away for the whole test.
