AP tutoring prices: what sets the fee and how packages work

The fee is the price of a lesson hour multiplied by the number of lessons in the programme; the hourly price depends on the tutor and your level. Five factors shape the quote:

1. Number of AP subjects: one subject (say, Calculus BC) or two or three in the same year? Each subject is its own syllabus and its own tutor match.
2. Lessons per week: one, two or three. The time left until May and whether you take the AP course at school decide this.
3. Total duration: a programme starting in September and one starting in February are built at different intensities for the same goal; a longer programme lowers the weekly load and the per-lesson cost.
4. Scope: the full syllabus, or FRQ practice and a final 8-week exam camp only?
5. Coaching: coaching for study routine, practice-test tracking and application timeline is an optional, separately priced programme.

Lessons are priced as a package, not one at a time. The package covers the lesson count and duration agreed in the consultation; the payment plan and instalment options are in the quote. Example programme shapes:

A group course looks cheaper per hour; compare three things:

• Productive time: in a 1:1 lesson all 60 minutes go to your questions and your gaps. In a group of 8, the same hour is split eight ways.
• Pace: a group moves at the slowest student's speed. The student who knows the topic waits; the one who doesn't falls behind.
• Flexibility: 1:1 lessons move around school exam weeks, illness and travel; a group course doesn't refund a missed class.

The total you pay may be lower in a group course, but the cost per target score is lower in a 1:1 programme for most students.

Yes. The AP exam fee is paid to the College Board and is independent of tutoring fees. In Türkiye registration goes through your school or an authorised test centre; centres may add a service charge on top of the College Board fee.
